MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Battling unseasonably cold Spring weather conditions, the DePaul men’s golf team struggled on the first day of the Memphis Intercollegiate and sit in 16th place after playing just 33 holes on Monday. The teams will finish the final three holes of the second round on Tuesday before playing out the final round.

The 16-team field took to the South Course at Colonial Country Club late and dealt with a 20-degree wind chill along with flurries throughout the day.

Russell Budd led the Blue Demons and sits in a tie for 50th place after shooting an 80 (+8) in the first round.  With three holes to play in the second round, the senior is +6 and has carded a pair of birdies.

Jan Juelicher was one stroke behind Budd in the first round with an 81 (+9) while John Pavelko and Moritz Ackerhans each carded an 84.  Adrian Halimi shot an 85.

The Memphis Intercollegiate is set to begin on Tuesday at 8 a.m. Once the second round is complete, the third round will commence with a shotgun start around 9 a.m.
