Halimi Leads DePaul in Round Two at Spring Break Championship

LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- The DePaul men’s golf team slipped into 10th place after two rounds at the FAU Spring Break Championship at the Fountains Country Club. Freshman Adrian Halimi moved into a tie for eighth place after carding a one under (70) in the second round.
Halimi is in a four-way tie for eighth place and is one-over for the tournament. The Blue Demon freshman entered the day tied for 18th, but used a trio of birdie putts to move into the top 10.
Russell Budd, who started today as DePaul’s individual leader, struggled in the second round and was 10-over for the day and is +8 after two rounds and is tied for 38th.
Moritz Hausweiler, Jan Juelicher and Moritz Ackerhans all improved their second round scores. Hausweiler took six shots off his first round score and carded an even par – 71 on Saturday. Hausweiler is tied for 29th. Juelicher shot a four-over 75 and Ackerhans was six-over in the second round.
The Blue Demons (590) are tied for 10th place, while seven shots separate the teams ranked fourth through 10th. UCF leads the team standings with a 571 after two rounds.
Greg Eason from UCF is six-under to lead the tournament field.
The final round begins on Sunday at 8:30 a.m., while Ackerhans is the first Blue Demon to tee off at 9:30 a.m. John Pavelko, who is playing in the tournament as an individual, is the final DePaul player to step into the tee box at 10:15 a.m. All DePaul players begin the final round at the first hole.
