Blue Demons finish in a tie for fifth in Columbia, Mo.

Final Results 
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Russell Budd, Maximilian Mayer and Ben Westley all finished in the top 20 to lead the DePaul golf team to its best finish of the season with a fifth-place spot at the Columbia Orthopedic Group Mizzou Intercollegiate. The Blue Demons finished tied for fifth with two other teams.
DePaul's tie for fifth with Arkansas-Little Rock and Ball State marked its best finish of the season. It betters the sixth-place spot set a week ago at the Spring Break Championship.
Mayer posted his best finish of the season in a tie for 16th place. He carded a 75 on Tuesday to follow rounds of 78 and 79 on Monday for a tournament total of 232 (+16). It was the first career top 25 finish for the DePaul freshman.
Budd and Westley finished in a three-player group in 20th place. Budd posted a score of 75 in the third round after an 81 and a 77 on Monday in the first two rounds. Westley added an 80 on Tuesday after scores of 80 and 73 in the first two rounds. Both players finished the tournament with scores of 233 (+17).
Moritz Ackerhans finished in a tie for 44th and Charles Boucher was tied for 66th to complete DePaul's tournament. Ackerhans fired a 75 on Tuesday to finish with a tournament score of 237 while Boucher carded a 78 for a tournament total of 244.
Host Missouri won the tournament with a team score of 900 (+36) to finished ahead of Eastern Michigan at 922 (+58). Missouri's Jace Long won medalist honors with a even-par tournament score of 216.
The Mizzou Intercollegiate is the final tournament before the Blue Demons travel to Palm Harbor, Fla. for the 2011 BIG EAST Championship. The three-day conference tournament takes place April 17-19 at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.
