Blue Demons in Ninth After Two Rounds

MUNICE, Ind. - Russell Budd led the DePaul contingent at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational with a two-round total of 148 on Saturday. DePaul is in ninth place and Budd is tied for 19th heading into Sunday's final 18 holes at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.
Budd opened his tournament with a one-over 71 before shooting a 77 in the second round on Saturday afternoon. He is in 19th place with Wright State's Cody Fixari with a two-round score of 148 (+8).
Moritz Ackerhans and Ben Westley are among nine players in a group in 28th place. Both players posted identical Saturday scores of 77 and 74 for a tournament total of 151 (+11). John Pavelko is tied for 47th while Brad Stephens is tied for 55th and Jan Juelicher is in a group in 84th place. Pavelko posted rounds of 78 and 75 followed by Stephens with scores of 76 and 79. Juelicher shot a 79 in the first round followed by an 85 in the second round.
Louisville holds a 21-shot advantage over second-place Ball State with a team score of 717 (+17). The Blue Demons sit in ninth place with a team total of 758 and stand just three strokes behind eighth-place Cincinnati. Louisville's Chris Malec is atop the individual leaderboard and is the only player under par after two rounds after shooting a 70 and 68 on Saturday.
Sunday's final 18 holes is scheduled for a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start.
