SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. -- Kyle Vincze and Charlie Spencer-White led the DePaul contingent in the first round of the Louisville Cardinal Challenge. The three-day, three-round event continues on Saturday with the second round at the UofL Golf Club.
Vincze carded the best round on Friday with an even-par score of 72 (E) while playing as an individual. He is tied for 10th place while Spencer-White is tied for 28th place following his opening round of 74 (+2).
Joe McCarthy and Bobby Thomas are in a group in 42nd place followed by Freddy Thomas and Garret Buckley in a group in 65th place. McCarthy and Bobby Thomas each recorded a 76 (+4) over the opening 18 hole while Freddy Thomas and Buckley finished the day with scores of 79 (+7).
Miami (Ohio) leads the field with a team score of 284 (-4) that is two shots better than second-place Louisville. The Blue Demons are in 12th after posting a team total of 305 (+17). Four players are tied for first on the individual leaderboard after opening rounds of 68 (-4).
Saturday's second round is scheduled for a 9 a.m. ET start at UofL Golf Club.
