LEMONT, Ill. – The DePaul golf team played its best round of the tournament on Sunday and took second place honors at the Blue Demons’ annual John Dallio Memorial Tournament at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club.

Marquette captured the team championship and finished +41 for the tournament while Valparaiso’s Kyle Henning walked away with the individual title.  Henning was +5 for the tournament and shot a 73 during the final round.  

DePaul started the final round tied for fifth and made crucial puts down the stretch to move up the leaderboard all day.  Led by the excellent play of Russell Budd, the senior put together a masterful third round and tied a tournament-low, 18-hole score, 69.  Budd finished the tournament tied for 12th while Moritz Ackerhans led the Blue Demons and tied for ninth.

John Pavelko tied for 23rd, Moritz Hausweiler took for 39th and Jan Juelicher finished in a tie for 44th to round out the DePaul contingent.  

DePaul finished the tournament with a score of 910, while Marquette finished at 905.  Northern Iowa (911) finished in third, SIU-Edwardsville (912) was fourth and Valparaiso (914) rounded out the top five.

Playing as individuals -- Alex Lloyd tied for 29th and Mark Sanchez tied for 50th.  Brad Stephens placed 64th, Adrian Halimi tied for 71st and Brad Peterson finished in 73rd.   

The Blue Demons return to the course and close out the fall portion of their schedule at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, Oct. 22-23.
