Final Results - Georgetown Intercollegiate
BEALLSVILLE, Md. – DePaul’s Ben Westley and Maximilian Mayer finished the Georgetown Intercollegiate tied for 32nd while the men’s team finished in 11th place. The three-round, 12-team tournament concluded Tuesday, at Members Club at Four Streams.
Mayer shot a team-best 74 in the third round which was played on Tuesday morning. Mayer’s 74, ties his second-best round of the season. The freshman also shot a 74 at the Cardinal Collegiate while his best round of the year came on a 73 which he carded in the opening round of the John Dallio Memorial.
Westly, who entered the round in a tie for 32nd, carded a final round score of 75. The junior tallied the Blue Demons' best round at the Georgetown Intercollegiate with a 71 in the second round on Monday.
Mayer and Westley were among five players that finished the tournament with 221 (+8). The three-round total for both Mayer and Westly are season-bests. Mayer’s previous best was a 227 at the Cardinal Collegiate while Westly tied his season-low which he also set at the Cardinal Collegeiate.
Charles Boucher finished the tournament +14 (227) and in 52nd place. Boucher carded a 78 in the final round of action while John Pavelko finished the third round with a 79 and tied for 64th overall with one other golfer. Mark Sanchez carded a three-round total of 239 (+26) for 68th place.
Campbell took home the Georgetown Intercollegiate team title with a three-round total score of 847. Miami’s (Ohio) Austin Kelly finished -8 (205) for the tournament’s individual title while the Red Hawks finished in second in the team standings with an 857.
The Blue Demons close out their fall season at the Bill Cullum Invitational at the Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi California, Oct. 25-26.
