Blue Demons Finish Sixth at Georgetown Intercollegiate

BEALLSVILLE, Md. – Moritz Ackerhans, Russell Budd and Ben Westley each finished in the top 20 as the Blue Demons finished sixth at the Georgetown Intercollegiate. Ackerhans and Budd finished tied for 13th while Westley was in a group in 19th place.
Ackerhans and Budd each finished the tournament with a nine-over score of 222. Ackerhans carded a 72 on Tuesday to follow rounds of 77 and 73 on Monday while Budd finished the tournament with rounds of 76, 70 and 76.
Westley was two shots back of Ackerhans and Budd with a tournament total of 224 (+11) to finish in a tie for 19th place. He put together his best round with a 73 on Tuesday following a 76 and 75 in rounds one and two.
Jan Juelicher finished in a tie for 42nd and John Pavelko was tie for 60th place. Juelicher shot an 83 in the third round to finish at 233 (+20) while Pavelko finished with an 81 and totaled 242 (+29). Brad Stephens played as an individual and finished in a group in 51st after an 83 in the third round to total 237 (+24) for the tournament.
West Florida won the team title in a playoff after finishing in a tie with Michigan State. Host Georgetown was third followed by Campbell, Xavier and DePaul. Campbell’s Vaita Guillaume won medalist honors by seven shots with a seven-under total of 206.
