Budd Sits in Fourth After First Day of Georgetown Intercollegiate

WASHINGTON D.C. – DePaul senior Russell Budd is in a four-way tie for fourth place after two rounds of action at the Georgetown Intercollegiate on Monday at The Members Club at Four Streams.  DePaul is currently in 10th place in the team standings.

Playing his best two rounds of the season, Budd opened the tournament +1 (72) and finished the day at par after shooting -1 in the second round.  The senior’s second round, 70 is his second best round of the season after shooting a 69 in the final round of the John Dallio Memorial on Oct. 7.

At the Georgetown Intercollegiate, Budd’s two-round total of 142 is four shots off Brian Churchill-Smith’s (Eastern Michigan) lead.

DePaul’s John Pavelko started his day with a 78, but was just one over in the second round and is in a tie for 38th with a two-round total of 150.  Jan Juelicher is tied for 45th while Moritz Hausweiler is currently tied for 47th.  Moritz Ackerhans rounds out DePaul’s lineup with a two-round total of 154 and is tied for 53rd.  

Playing as an individual, Alex Lloyd is also tied at 47th with his two-round total of 153.

Toledo heads into the final round in first place and is +7 (575) for the tournament.  Notre Dame (576) is in second and Michigan State (580) sits in third.  Places eight through 11 are separated by just eight strokes while DePaul is in 10th place with a combined score of 595.

Tuesday’s final round tees off at 8 p.m. (ET).
