Results After Two Rounds
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Ben Westley sits in a tie for 18th after 36 holes to lead the DePaul golf team at the Bill Cullum Invitational on Monday. As a team, the Blue Demons are in 11th place heading into the final 18 holes on Tuesday at Wood Ranch Golf Club.
Westley fired a 71 in the second round after opening the tournament with a 75 to finish at two-over par (146). He sits in a six-way tie for 18th place and seven shots behind tournament lead Kenny Pigman of Cal State Santa Barbara. Pigman leads the field by two strokes with a five-under score of 139.
Charles Boucher is three shots behind Westley with rounds of 77 and 72 for a first-day total of 149 (+5) that finds him in a group in 36th place. Russell Budd is tied for 46th and is a shot ahead of Maximilian Mayer who is in a group in 51st place. Budd posted rounds of 74 and 78 for an eight-over score of 152 while Mayer shot a 78 and 75 for a two-round score of 153 (+9). Erik Peterson rounds out the DePaul contingent in Simi Valley after registering consecutive rounds of 85 during the first day of action.
Portland sits atop the team leaderboard after combining for a five-over team score of 581. The Pilots are followed by San Jose State (582) and UC Riverside (584). The Blue Demons are 11th at 24-over (600) and stand just a stroke behind 10th-place Sacramento State.
The final 18 holes are scheduled for Tuesday morning at Wood Ranch GC.
