CHICAGO - The DePaul golf team starts the second half of the 2012-13 season in Orlando at the The Match Play on Monday and Tuesday. DePaul is one of four teams competing in the match play tournament at Reunion Resort and will face Cleveland State in their first match on Monday morning.
A total of three rounds will be played during the two-day event, which will conclude Tuesday morning. The first round will be standard match play followed by back-to-back rounds of medal match play with all match play results cumulating in combined team scores.
After facing Cleveland State in the first match, DePaul takes on Marquette in the second match on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, the Blue Demons close out the tournament when they square off with Seton Hall.
Competing for DePaul this week is Russell Budd, John Pavelko, Moritz Ackerhans, Jan Juelicher, Moritz Hausweiler, Alex Lloyd and Adrian Halimi.
Coming out of the fall, Ackerhans led DePaul with a 12-round stroke average of 73.83 and Russel Budd followed at 74.92. Pavelko rounded out the trio averaging below 76 at 75.75.
The Match Play takes place on the same course that the Blue Demons will compete at for the BIG EAST Championship, April 28-30.
