CHICAGO – The DePaul golf team returns action and takes on Ohio University on Saturday at the Chechessee Creek Club in Okatie, S.C. before participating in the Wexford Intercollegiate, Feb. 18-19 in Hilton Head, S.C.
DePaul and Ohio will play a match-play round on Saturday. Competing for the Blue Demons in both events are Moritz Ackerhans, Russell Budd, John Pavelko, Jan Juelicher and Adrian Halimi.
With Saturday’s match in the books, DePaul heads to the Wexford Plantation for the eighth annual Wexford Intercollegiate which features and 18-team event hosted by Francis Marion University, Feb. 18-19. The event starts each day at 8:30 a.m. ET with 36 holes scheduled for Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The Wexford Plantation course measures 6,828 yards and is a par 72 layout.
The Blue Demons will be joined at the Wexford Intercollegiate by Campbell, Davidson, Dayton, Elon, Francis Marion, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Ohio, Presbyterian, Radford, Richmond, Samford, Connecticut, USC Aiken, South Florida, Western Carolina and William and Mary.
DePaul is coming off a 2-1 performance at the Match Play – defeating Cleveland State and Seton Hall. Halimi led the Blue Demons by winning all three of his matches, while Pavelko and Juelicher each recorded two wins at the event.
On the season, Budd leads the Blue Demons with his 74.92 stroke average while Pavelko (75.75) and Ackerhans (76.08) both average under 77.0.
Following its travels to South Carolina, DePaul plays at the USF Invitational, March 3-5 at the Lake Jovita Golf Club.
