Blue Demons take to the links Sunday-Tuesday in Dade City, Fla.

CHICAGO - The DePaul golf team looks to build off its recent 10th place finish at the Wexford Intercollegiate when it travels to Dade City, Fla. for the USF Invitational. This three-day tournament takes place at Lake Jovita Country Club, Mar. 2-4. The Blue Demons are one of 17 teams competing in the invitational.
A loaded field, including seven teams from the top 50, await DePaul: No. 5 Illinois, No. 19 Florida State, No. 24 Auburn, No. 28 USF (hosts), No. 39 Mercer, No. 40 Memphis and No. 43 Purdue. Others to compete in the invitational include Air Force, Cincinnati, Charleston, Eastern Michigan, Florida, Marquette, Ohio State, UNC-Greensboro and Wisconsin.
Competing for the Blue Demons are Moritz Ackerhans, Adrian Halimi, Jonathan Hewett, Jan Juelicher and James Lelliott.
This 54-hole event is scheduled to tee-off Monday morning with a round to be played each day.
In last year's USF Invitational, DePaul finished in 17th place after carding a tournament score of 928. Halimi finished in a tie for 65th and Ackerhans finished just one stroke behind Halimi and finished in a tie for 68th.
DePaul wrapped up a 10th-place finish at the Wexford Intercollegiate in its most recent outing, Feb. 18. Halimi paced the Blue Demons with a season-low three-round score of 226. His best tournament of the season placed him in a tie for 22nd. Ackerhans, Juelicher and Hewett were all within six strokes of Halimi and finished in the top 50.
Following its trip to Dade City, Fla., DePaul has three weeks off before it travels back down to Fla. for the FAU Spring Break Championship. This three-day, 54-hole tournament takes place at The Fountains Country Club, Mar. 28-30.
