Golf Finishes 14th at South Florida



TAMPA, Fla. – DePaul had two players shoot 72 or better in the final round and finished 14th in the team standings at the annual Dick Wittchoff/USF Invitational which concluded on Sunday at The Claw Golf Course.

 

Sophomore Will Cumberland led the Blue Demons on the final day by shooting an even-par round of 71 while sophomore Matthew McMahon was a shot behind. Freshman Nick Martin carded a 78 while senior Josh Scarborough finished his final round with an 83.

 

McMahon finished the three-day tournament with a 218 which tied him for eighth place. Cumberland used his 71 to finish tied for 19th. The Blue Demons entered the final day of the team race in 14th place but Sunday’s team round of 292 vaulted them into ninth.
