Blue Demons Move Up One Spot in Round Two
DADE CITY, Fla. - Ben Westley and Nick Martin shot a 73 and 74 to lead the DePaul golf team in the second round of the Ron Smith USF Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. DePaul is in 17th place with a two-day total of 593 (296-297). The Blue Demons moved up one spot in the team standings after sitting at 18th following the first-round action.
Westley and Greg Doherty are in a group in 53rd overall with two-day totals of 147 (+3). Westley followed his opening-round 74 with a 73 on Saturday while Doherty finished with a 75 on day two. He led the Blue Demons in round one with an even-par 72.
Nick Martin is tied for 71st with a total of 149 (75-74) while Cory Blenkush is tied for 80th with a 150 (75-75). Charles Boucher shot a 79 on Friday followed by an 80 on Saturday for a two-day total of 159. Michael Furci, playing as an individual, is tied for 64th with a two-round total of 148 (72-76).
DePaul’s team score of 593 is 17-over par with Marquette leading the field with a six-under total of 570. Sunday’s final 18 holes begin at 8 p.m. ET.
