Furci and Westley Lead Blue Demons After First Round
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Michael Furci carded a 73 and Ben Westley fired a 74 to lead DePaul in the first round of the C&F Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va. The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday morning at the Kingsmill Golf Resort.
Furci used four birdies in the first round and finished the day in a tie for 21st with a 73. Westley posted a front nine of 40 before coming back with a 34 to finish a stroke behind Furci and in a group in 33rd.
Greg Doherty and Charles Boucher each shot a 75 on Monday and were among 10 players in 46th while Russell Budd carded a 79 for a tie for 89th. Brad Stephens also played as an individual and sits in a tie for 75th with a first-round score of 78.
Three players shot a two-under 69 to lead the individual leaderboard while Missouri leads the team scoring with a first-round total of 288. The Blue Demons are eight out of the 22 teams following a combined score of 297.
The final 18 holes tee off starting at 8 a.m. ET Tuesday morning.
