Golf Sits in a Tie for Sixth at Cardinal Collegiate



JASPER, Ind. - Ben Westley led DePaul through the first two rounds of the BSU Cardinal Collegiate on Saturday. The sophomore sits in a tie for third after 36 holes while the team is tied for sixth. The final 18 holes are set for Sunday.

Westley fired a two-under 70 to match his season-best score in the first round on Saturday morning. He followed that with a 75 in the afternoon to sit at three-over (145) and in a four-way tie for third place. Bowling Green's Matt Schneider leads the field after two rounds of 71 for a total of 142 (-2).

Charles Boucher follows Westley in a group in 25th place after rounds of 78 and 74 (152) on Saturday. Michael Furci sits in a tie for 32nd and Greg Doherty is tied for 48th. Furci carded rounds of 79 and 74 while Doherty shot a 77 in the morning and a 79 in the afternoon. Mike Tuel rounds out DePaul's fivesome in a group at 64th following scores of 78 and 83 in his two rounds.

Bowling Green, Detroit and Eastern Kentucky lead the team scoring after each school put together a score of 596 on Saturday. Marshal is fourth at 597 and Evansville is fifth with a score of 599 ahead of DePaul and Cincinnati in a tie for sixth at 605.

Sunday's final 18 holes start at 8:30 a.m. ET at Sultan's Run Golf Course.
