Blue Demons Place 12th at Pepsi Cola Invitational
POTTSBORO, Texas – The DePaul men’s golf team concluded their Spring Break trip in Texas with the Pepsi Cola Invitational at Tanglewood Resort over the weekend. Wichita State won the 54-hole event by 22 strokes.
Ryan Jamison was the top finisher for the Blue Demons with a three-day total of 239. He opened the tournament with an 81 and followed that with rounds of 75 and 83. He finished tied for 43rd overall. Scott Yopchick was among five players at 45th with a total of 240. Yopchick opened the tournament with an 80 and carded a 81 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday.
Josh Sellars was 51st and was followed by Josh Scarborough in a group at 57th, Joe Hermes in 62nd and Nathan Ruth finished the tournament tied at 65th.
As a team, the Blue Demons were 12th with a team total of 965. DePaul opened the tournament with a first-round total of 330 before coming back to shoot a 318 in the second round, and 317 on Sunday.
DePaul is off until they travel to Madison, Ill., for Billiken Invitational. Saint Louis University will host the tournament from April 14-15.
