Golf Tied For Sixth After Day One of Billiken Invitational

Matthew McMahon is tied for seventh and five shots out of the lead in the individual race at Gateway National.

MADISON, Ill. – DePaul sophomore Matthew McMahon fired rounds of 72 and 73 and sits tied for seventh place after the first two rounds of the annual Billiken Invitational at Gateway National.

McMahon is just three-over par and sits five shots out of the lead with one round to play on Tuesday. Classmate Will Cumberland and freshman Cory Blenkush are tied for 28th (and second for DePaul) at 151.

DePaul as a team is currently in a three-way tie for sixth place with Evansville and UMKC and is just 12 shots off the leader Austin Peay.

The tournament concludes on Tuesday with 18 holes.
