Blue Demons Get Through Tough First Day at Caputo Invite



HAWTHORN WOODS, Ill. Four DePaul golfers battled Mother Nature in addition to the golf course as they played as individuals in tough weather conditions at the Caputo Invitational. Monday's schedule was shortened to just one round due to wind and rain. The tournament, hosted by Loyola at Hawthorn Woods Country Club, will attempt to play a final 18 holes on Tuesday.

Erik Peterson led the DePaul contingent with an 84 in the first round. He was in a group at 22nd and was followed by Charles Boucher in 27th with an 85. Charlie Harris sits in a tie for 29th with an 87 while Paul Watt is tied for 34th after shooting an 89 in windy, rainy conditions.

Loyola’s Armando Favela posted a four-over 76 for the top individual score of the first round on the par-72, 6,875-yard course. Tuesday’s final round is scheduled for 18 holes pending weather conditions.
