Boucher Tied for Eighth After Day One of Caputo Invitational
MUNDELEIN, Ill. Freshman Charles Boucher of the DePaul men’s golf team holds a tie for eighth place following Monday’s first and second rounds of the Caputo Invitational. The three-round tournament concludes with Tuesday’s final 18 holes at Pine Meadow Golf Club. Boucher opened Monday’s action with a round of 77 and closed the day with a round of 74. His 36-hole total of 151 puts him seven shots over par and five shots off the lead entering the tournament’s final round. Junior Paul Watt rests in a tie for 24th place after shooting rounds of 76 and 82 for a 36-hole score of 158. Senior Michael Gammon follows in a tie for 31st with rounds of 83 and 79, while sophomore Danny Dolan carded rounds of 89 and 84 to share 45th place with two golfers. Sean Baxter of Chicago State and John Sutko of Creighton hold a tie for the individual lead with identical 36-hole scores of 146. Host Loyola-Chicago tops the team standings with a combined score of 604. DePaul did not field an entire team. Tuesday’s final round tees off at 9:30 a.m. (CST).
