Boucher Earns Fourth-Place Tie at Caputo Invitational
MUNDELEIN, Ill. Freshman Charles Boucher of the DePaul men’s golf team earned a tie for fourth place as the Loyola-Chicago Caputo Invitational drew to a close on Tuesday. Three Blue Demons placed among the top 20 individuals following the 54-hole tournament at Pine Meadow Golf Club.
Boucher carded a final round of 75 on Tuesday after opening with rounds of 77 and 74 on Monday. His three-round total of 226 placed him ten shots over par and six shots behind tournament winner Armando Favela of Loyola.
Senior Michael Gammon followed Boucher by 11 strokes with a tie for 16th place. His final round of 75 combined with Monday’s rounds of 83 and 79 for a 54-hole total of 237. Junior Paul Watt earned a tie for 20th place with a three-round score of 238. He closed the tournament with a round of 80 after opening with scores of 76 and 82.
Host Loyola won the team title with a score of 912, while IPFW followed in second place with a total of 925. DePaul did not field an entire team.
The Blue Demons return to competition April 20-22 at the BIG EAST Conference Championships. The three-round tournament runs Sunday through Tuesday at Traditions Golf Club in Hebron, Kentucky.
