CHICAGO - DePaul standouts senior Moritz Ackerhans and freshman Jonathan Hewett were named all-BIG EAST Conference selections by the league's coaches it was announced on Tuesday.  The pair becomes just the third and fourth Blue Demon golfers to earn all-conference honors since 2006.

"This is a complement to our program and the success that we had this year," head coach Betty Kaufmann said after hearing the news.

"We had one player (John Pavelko) earn all-conference honors last year and two this year -- it shows that our program is moving in the right directions. It is always an honor to be named all-conference and for Moritz it is the columniation of his career and for Jonathan it marks a successful start for his young Blue Demon career."

Ackerhans led the Blue Demons with his 74.79 stroke average in 33 rounds played.  The senior recorded three top 10 finishes including second place finishes at the Carlton Oaks Invitational and the John Dallio Memorial. The Kiel, Germany native paced DePaul in five tournaments and carded his lowest 54-hole total of 217 at the Red Wolf Intercollegiate.
