Division I Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar
CHICAGO - DePaul golfer Russell Budd was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar on Wednesday. Budd was among the 152 players in Division I golfers honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level. In addition, he must participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships,
Along with the golfers success on the course, Division I golfers must have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.
Budd, who graduated Cum Laude in June with a business degree, made his second appearance on the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars list after earning the same honor last season. Budd finished his final year at DePaul with a career-best season average of 75.13 and led the Blue Demons in scoring in five tournaments.
