Greg Doherty finished the RBC Canadian Open tied for 131st

ANCASTER, Ontario – Former DePaul golf standout, Greg Doherty shot a 70 in the second round of the RBC Canadian Open on Friday at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club.  Appearing in his first PGA Tour event, Doherty shot four over for a two-round total of 144.
 
The projected the cut is 139 (1-under par) and Doherty will not advance.  He finished tied for 131st

Doherty played much better and opened his day with a birdie – the first of the tournament for the former Blue Demon.  He tallied three more birdies in the second round, while he also registered a pair of bogeys and had one, double bogey on the day

William McGirt and Scott Piercy head into Saturday’s third round leading the field and sit at 11-under.
 
Doherty, who graduated from DePaul in 2010, had another Blue Demon – Russell Budd on the greens with him at the RBC Canadian Open.  Budd served as Doherty’s caddy.
