Canadian Men's Amateur - Qualifier

Cumberland, Ontario --  DePaul golfer Russell Budd qualified for the Canadian Men's Amateur Championship after finishing second in the qualifying tournament over the weekend at Camelot Golf  and Country Club.

Budd shot three under for a 69 and totaled four birdies during the 18-hole qualifying round.

The Canadian Amateur Championship begins at 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 7.  240 players will compete in the first two rounds before the final two round of play which begin on Aug. 9.  

The winner of the Canadian Amateur Championship earns an exemption into the 2013 RBC Canadian Open.

Budd’s 69 in the qualifying round ties for his best round during the 2011-12 year – he also shot a 69 at the Cardinal Collegiate.
