CHICAGO - DePaul men's golf coach Betty Kaufmann announced today the 2010-11 schedule that opens on Sept. 20 in Louisville, Ky., before the Blue Demons host the annual John Dallio Memorial at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club on Sept. 25-26.

"This year's schedule is once again very demanding and should test the team," said Kaufmann. "We will need to be at our best each week to keep in the top of the fields at each event."

The Cardinal Intercollegiate opens the Fall portion of the 2010-11 schedule as DePaul travels to Louisville, Ky., for the event on Sept. 20-21. The Blue Demons are scheduled to compete in five tournaments over September and October before a six-tournament run in 2011.

The annual John Dallio Memorial returns to Ruffled Feathers on Sept. 25-26 as the Blue Demons welcome a dozen teams to Lemont, Ill. DePaul claimed the team and individual titles a year ago as senior Greg Doherty  birdied three of his last four holes to come from behind for medalist honors. The Blue Demons claimed the team title with an 18-stroke margin over Detroit.

The 2010 Dallio Memorial field includes Bradley, Detroit, Eastern Illinois, Florida Gulf Coast, IUPUI, Loyola-Chicago, Northern Iowa, Oakland, USF, Southern Illinois, SIU-Edwardsville and Western Illinois joining the host Blue Demons. The annual event is named after for DePaul golfer John Dallio who lost his courageous battle with glioblastoma, a deadly brain tumor on Oct. 6, 2003. A member of the Blue Demons from 1997-2001, Dallio earned a degree from DePaul in Finance and worked in the Blue Demon athletic department for two years.

The fall slate continues with three tournaments in October. The first action of the month has the Blue Demons at the Weibring Golf Club for the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate hosted by Illinois State from Oct. 2-3. Two weeks later, DePaul plays in the Georgetown Intercollegiate in Beallsville, Md. at the Members Club at Four Streams. The team closes the Fall slate on Oct. 25-26 with the Bill Cullum Invitational hosted by Cal State Northridge. The final Fall tournament takes place at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley, Calif.

The Match Play returns to open the busy Spring schedule for DePaul. The event takes place Feb. 11-12 at TPC Tampa Bay in Tampa, Fla. and features a match play tournament among BIG EAST programs. The inaugural event in Oct. 2009 in Southern Pines, N.C. saw the Blue Demons finish fourth among the 11 teams.

Ten days later, DePaul travels to Hilton Head, S.C. for the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate. Francis Marion is the host of the Wexford Intercollegiate at Wexford Plantation Golf Course from Feb. 21-22.

The three-day USF Invitational takes place Mar. 4-6 at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla., before DePaul heads to Delray Beach, Fla., for the Spring Break Championship. The three-day tournament at Gleneagles Country Club is hosted by Florida Atlantic, Mar. 25-27.

DePaul tunes up for the BIG EAST Championship with a two-day event in Columbia, Mo., on April 4-5. The Mizzou Intercollegiate takes place at The Club at Old Hawthorne. The BIG EAST Championship is scheduled for three rounds April 17-19 at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Fla.

DePaul returns eight players from last season's squad led by Ben Westley and Charles Boucher. Westley holds the top scoring average among the returners at 74.67 last season while Boucher was second with a 76.33 stroke average.
