Southern Illinois Wins Dallio Memorial in Tiebreaker
LEMONT, Ill. Southern Illinois edged Nova Southeastern in a tie-breaker to claim the team title at the annual John Dallio Memorial on Monday at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club.
Nova Southeastern and Southern Illinois each finished with team scores of 873 and the Salukis were awarded the title in the tie-breaker formula of the fifth players score. Detroit-Mercy finished third two shots off the lead.
Georgetown’s Brian Dorfman won medalist honors by shooting a three-round total of 209 (69-70-70). Britt Pronk of Detroit took second at 211 and teammate David Byrne was third at 214.
DePaul, which finished sixth in the team standings, was led by Greg Doherty who tied for eighth at 216 after carding rounds of 71-73-72. Nick Martin was tied for 20th after shooting a final-round 71 and finished with a 221.
