Golf Plays at the Windon Memorial Sept. 23-24

CHICAGO -- The DePaul golf team stays close to Chicago for its second tournament of the 2012-13 season when they travel to the Skokie Country Club for Northwestern's 16th annual Windon Memorial Classic, Sept. 23-24. The 15-team field plays 36 holes Sunday before the final 18 holes on Monday morning. Live results will be available at Golfstat.com.
DePaul will be joined on the course by UC Davis, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Harvard, Indiana, Lamar, Marquette, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Tennessee and Toledo round out the tournament field.
The Blue Demons are coming off an eighth place finish at the Ram Masters Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo., last week. John Pavelko led DePaul with his career-best finish in a tie for 28th place. Pavelko also set a new career standard for a single round - 71.
The Skokie Country Club plays 7,081-yards and is a par 71. The layout designed by Donald Ross and established in 1897. The course has hosted the U.S. Open, the Western Open, the 1998 USGA Senior Amateur and the 2010 Western Amateur. This is the third year Skokie will host the Windon after also opening its doors in 2006 and 2009.
