CHICAGO - The DePaul golf team hosts its annual John Dallio Memorial this weekend at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. Ruffled Feathers is the home of DePaul golf and is located in Lemont, Ill.

The three-round, two-day tournament is scheduled for 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.

Ruffled Feathers features a par 72 layout of 6,898 yards. In addition to serving as the competition site for the John Dallio Memorial, the DePaul golf team also has an exclusive practice facility at the course. DePaul's lineup for the second event of the season is Russell Budd, Charles Boucher, Ben Westley, Maximilian Mayer and John Pavelko. Erik Peterson, Mark Sanchez, Brad Stephens and Mike Tuel will also compete as individuals over the next two days.

Noting the Blue Demons: Junior Ben Westley is the top returner after posting a scoring average of 74.67 last season... Charles Boucher held an average of 76.33 a year ago... Boucher is the lone senior on the roster... six of the nine members of the roster are either freshmen or sophomores... sophomore Russell Budd held the best round of the season a year ago with a 67 in the first round of the Xavier Invitational... at the Cardinal Collegiate, he posted the best 18 with a 70 in the opening round... Budd was one of two players (Greg Doherty) that carded three rounds of 70 or better to lead the team last season.

Blue Demons Look to Defend Dallio Title: The Blue Demons look to defend their John Dallio Memorial title they claimed a year ago against the 12 others teams competing this weekend.

Greg Doherty birdied three of his last four holes to come from behind and win the individual title while leading the Blue Demons to the 2009 team crown. Doherty fired a three-round total of 217 to finish a stroke ahead of teammate Charles Boucher while the Blue Demons posted a a team total of 880 (+16) to finish 18 strokes ahead of second-place Detroit.

The 2010 Dallio Memorial field includes Bradley, Detroit, Eastern Illinois, Florida Gulf Coast, IUPUI, Loyola-Chicago, Northern Iowa, Oakland, USF, Southern Illinois, SIU-Edwardsville and Western Illinois joining the host Blue Demons. The annual event is named after for DePaul golfer John Dallio who lost his courageous battle with glioblastoma, a deadly brain tumor on Oct. 6, 2003. A member of the Blue Demons from 1997-2001, Dallio earned a degree from DePaul in finance and worked in the Blue Demon athletics department for two years.

Looking Ahead: DePaul plays in three October events to conclude the fall schedule starting at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate. That tournament is hosted by Illinois State on Oct. 2-3. Following the Weibring, DePaul heads to the nation's capital for the Georgetown Intercollegiate, Oct. 18-19, and concludes the autumn swing in Simi Valley, Calif., on Oct. 25-26 at the Bill Cullum Invitational.
