Golf Finishes Eighth In Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. Senior Nick Martin finished ninth overall after he fired a one-under 71 in the final round of the Cardinal Classic on Tuesday at the Cardinal Club. DePaul finished eighth in the team standings finishing with a three-over-par 867. Louisville won the tournament at 834, nine shots ahead of Eastern Kentucky and Kansas State. Martin finished the tournament tied for ninth after carding three under-par rounds of 71-68-71 for a three-round total of 210. He was 10 shots behind the tournament champion Trey Bowling of Eastern Kentucky. The Blue Demons’ Cory Blenkush shot a 69 on Tuesday and finished 22nd at 214 (73-72-69) while Greg Doherty tied for 36th overall at 220 (76-72-72). Ben Westley tied for 53rd at 224 (76-73-75) and Charles Boucher tied for 69th at 234 (75-81-78). DePaul returns to action on Monday when it travels to South Bend, Ind. for Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic at the Warren Course.
