Blue Demons take to the links Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in Erin, Wis.

CHICAGO – The DePaul golf team looks to build off of a third place finish last weekend when it travels to Erin, Wis. for the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, Oct. 6-8, hosted by Marquette. The Blue Demons are one of 14 teams to play the 54-hole event. One 18-hole round is scheduled to be played each day Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
DePaul is joined on the links by Green Bay, Marquette, Michigan, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Southern Methodist, Stanford, St. John’s, UCLA and Wisconsin.
Competing for the Blue Demons are Moritz Ackerhans, Adrian Halimi, Jonathan Hewett, James Lelliott and Alex Lloyd.
The Erin Hills course is a par 72 that stretches 7,823 yards. The course has played host to the 2011 U.S. Amateur Championship. Although this course opened up in 2006, it is already the future host of the 2017 U.S. Open. It also ranks No. 10 in Golf Digest’s latest list of America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses.
DePaul wrapped up a third place finish at the John Dallio Memorial last weekend. Ackerhans carded a 221 (+5) which included a season-low round of 69 (-3) en route to a second place finish. Freshman James Lelliot joined him in the top 10 and finished tied for 10th, with a score of 226 (+10). Lelliot matched Ackerhans with a career-low round of 69 (-3).
Following the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, DePaul heads east for the Georgetown Intercollegiate in Beallsville, Md. This two-day event takes place from Oct. 21-22 and is played at The Members Club at Four Streams.
