Blue Demons Head to Notre Dame's Gridiron Golf Classic



CHICAGO The DePaul golf team will head to Notre Dame, Ind. for the 2008 Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic on Monday and Tuesday at Notre Dame’s Warren Course.

The Blue Demons and Fighting Irish will be joined in the tournament field by Arkansas, UC Davis, Georgetown, Iowa, Lamar, Michigan State, Minnesota, UNC Greensboro, North Florida, San Diego, San Francisco, Southeastern Louisiana, Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth. The Warren Course is a par 70, 7,023-yard layout.

The tournament opens on Monday at 7:45 a.m. (CST) and features 36-holes of action. Tuesday the teams will play a final 18 starting at 7:00 a.m. (CST).

This will be DePaul’s third tournament of the 2008-09 season and the Blue Demons are coming off an eighth-place finish at the Cardinal Classic in Louisville last week. Senior Nick Martin led the Blue Demons with a ninth-place finish in Louisville.
