Golf Finishes Day One of Hoya Invitational



Day One Results

BEALLSVILLE, Md.- DePaul freshman Collin Piercy carded a first round of 74 and sits tied for eighth place after day one of Georgetown’s Hoya Invitational at the Members Club at Four Streams.

 

Piercy stands three shots over par and six shots off the lead after 18 holes of play.  Sophomore Nick Martin follows his teammate by one stroke to card a 75 and hold a tie for 14th place.  Matt Brantingham of William and Mary leads the individual standings with a score of 68.

 

The Blue Demons head into Sunday’s final round tied with Princeton for ninth place in the team standings with a score of 308.  William and Mary sits in first place with a score of 299 to top a field of competition that includes BIG EAST squads from Georgetown, Marquette, and Villanova.

 

The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Sunday.
