Golf Finishes Eighth at Hoya Invitational
Freshman Colin Piercy took fifth overall at the Georgetown Tournament.

Final Results

BEALLSVILLE, Md.- The DePaul golf team finished eighth in the team standings at Georgetown’s Hoya Invitational following Sunday’s final round.  Freshman Colin Piercy tied for fifth in the individual standings to lead the Blue Demons at the Members Club at Four Streams.

 

DePaul  recorded a final score of 614 in the two round tournament to finish four strokes behind BIG EAST Conference rival Marquette.  Host Georgetown won the team title with a score of 600.

 

Piercy carded two rounds of 74 for a total of 148 strokes to lead DePaul.  Sophomore Nick Martin followed with a score of 151 and finished tied for 15th.  Sophomore Cory Blenkush and freshman Greg Doherty each shot 158 in a tie for 40th and junior Matthew McMahon took the fifth spot for the Blue Demons with a score of 161.

 

Robert Rohanna of Penn State won the individual title with a score of 139.

 

DePaul closes out its fall schedule November 4-5 at the BIG EAST-MAC Challenge in Orlando, Florida.
