Golf Leads Through Two Rounds at Georgetown Intercollegiate
BEALLSVILLE, Md. The DePaul men’s golf team sits in first place following Monday’s first and second rounds at the 23rd Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate. Sophomore Greg Doherty holds a tie at the top of the individual standings entering Tuesday’s final round at the Members Club at Four Streams.
Doherty carded rounds of 70 and 68 for a four-under-par total of 138. He shares first place with Mike Ballo of St. John’s and is one of four Blue Demons among the top 10 individuals.
Junior Cory Blenkush posted scores of 69 and 72 and holds a tie for third place with a one-under-par total of 141. Senior Matthew McMahon follows with a tie for fifth place after shooting rounds of 69 and 73 for an even-par total of 142. Junior Nick Martin shares eighth place with a total of 143 and senior Will Cumberland rests in 23rd with a total of 147.
DePaul carries a five-under-par team score of 563, while BIG EAST Conference rival St. John’s follows in second place with a total of 569. Richmond holds third place with a score of 572 and BIG EAST rival Georgetown sits in fourth place with a score of 588.
Tuesday’s final round of 18 holes tees off at 7 a.m. (CST).
