CHICAGO -- DePaul head men's golf coach Betty Kaufmann announced on Tuesday that Bobby and Freddy Thomas have both signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) and will join the Blue Demon program for the 2014-15 season.

"We are excited to have the Thomas brothers join our Blue Demon family," Kaufmann said of her two signees.  "They both are top players from the state of Minnesota with solid experience. They are consistent players and will be strong additions to our program."

The twins from Lakeville, Minn. have accumulated many accolades throughout their prep careers which started as seventh graders playing on the high school varsity team.

Bobby Thomas was the top-ranked player in the state in 2013, according to the Minnesota Golf Association (MGA). The five-year letterwinner has a career low round of 68 which came at Wedgewood Cove GC, in 2013. A 2013 MGA All-State selection, Bobby Thomas is coming off his most successful season in which he captured three individual tournament championships.

His brother Freddy is a two-time MGA All-State selection and has finished as high as second in the state tournament. The five-time state tournament participant has racked up eight individual tournament wins and was named the Minnesota PGA Junior Player of the Year in 2012. Freddy Thomas’ best round came at North Oaks CC where he carded a 67.

The Blue Demons tee-off their 2013-14 spring season at Carlton Oaks GC in Santee, Calif. for the Carlton Oaks Invitational. This two-day event takes place Feb. 10-11 and is hosted by Western Illinois.
