CHICAGO – Head men’s golf coach Betty Kaufmann announced on Wednesday that Jonathan Goldstein has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the golf team for the 2013-14 season.
“We are very excited to have Jonathan as a part of our class of 2013,” Kaufmann said. “He has really grown as a player the last few months and should be a strong addition to our program
A senior at Glenbrook North High School, Goldstein has three top 25 finishes in American Junior Golf Association tournaments while he took second place at the Midwest Players Championship in July of 2012.
A three-time All-Central Suburban League selection Goldstein has never finished outside the top 20 in any high school tournament. He has also helped his Glenbrook North team to a pair of fourth place finishes at the Illinois High School Association State tournament.
The Blue Demons finished their fall season in October and returns to the course Feb. 11-12 to participate in the Match Play at the Reunion Resort in Florida.
