Nov. 15, 2011
CHICAGO – DePaul golf coach Betty Kaufmann announced today that Filip Brattse and Moritz Hausweiler will join the program starting next season. The European duo signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at DePaul beginning in August 2012. Brattse is a native of Skanor, Sweden and has played in many national and international events over the past year winning twice on the Skandia Junior Tour. He is ranked fourth on the Skandia Tour Order of Merit. “Filip is a talented player that will continue to improve,” said Kaufmann. “He has a solid swing and short game. Filip will be a great addition to the golf program.” Hausweiler heads to Chicago next year from Dusseldorf, Germany. He currently attends the Millfield Senior school in Somerset, England. He is the captain of the golf team and a three-time winner of the U18 state team champion of the world schools in South Africa. “Moritz is continuing to grow as a golfer and will be another great addition to the program,” said Kaufmann. DePaul opens the Spring portion of the 2011-12 schedule in February with The Match Play in Orlando, Fla.
