In his fourth season as assistant coach (2014), Reynolds helped develop a young pool of talent that bodes well for the future of the Blue Demon program. Freshman Han Wustling was named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team and led all BIG EAST freshmen in assists. He finished No. 8 in the conference overall in assists and assists per game. Freshman Alessandro Thomas was tied for third on the team in goals and points and was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll. Freshman Caleb Pothast was among the top performers in the Blue Demon back line while freshmen George Moushi, Philipp Koenigstein, Marcus Griggs and Kosta Brkovic all made valuable contributions.
That demonstrated the team's resiliency. The Blue Demons battled right to the end in overtime losses against three nationally ranked teams. Their schedule featured matches against eight teams that would be ranked in the nation's Top 25 during the season highlighted by the victory over Marquette and the tie with St. John's. Senior goalkeeper Eric Sorby had a career year and was No. 2 in the nation in total saves during the middle of the 2013 season.
In 2012, Reynolds teamed with head coach Craig Blazer and assistant coach Mark Plotkin in guiding the Blue Demons to wins over Northwestern, Illinois-Chicago, Loyola Chicago and a season-ending victory over talented BIG EAST Conference opponent USF. Reynolds also helped lead DePaul to ties with BIG EAST adversary Cincinnati, Valparaiso and Drake.
While on Virginia's coaching staff in 2003, Reynolds was named Aflac National Assistant Coach of the Year. He was also an assistant coach with the men's U-18 national team.
Reynolds was a Cavaliers' assistant from 1996-2004 before becoming an assistant coach with the Chicago Fire from 2004-2007. From 1988-1996, Reynolds was the head soccer and tennis coach at Newport University in Newport News, Va.
Reynolds played pro soccer from 1976-1982 with the Rochester (N.Y.) Lancers of the NASL (North American Soccer League) and also competed in the MISL (Major Indoor Soccer League) from 1978-1982 with the New York Arrows, Detroit Lightning, Chicago Horizon and New Jersey Rockets.
He was an All-American defender who helped lead SUNY Brockport to the NCAA Division III championship as a senior in 1974.
