Hobie Hare was named a full-time assistant coach in June, 2010 and has been an energetic recruiting force for the Blue Demons.
In his two seasons at DePaul, Hare has helped lead the Blue Demons to berths in the BIG EAST Championship tournament, including the quarterfinals in 2009.
He played a key role in helping attract 14 players to Lincoln Park in the 2010 recruiting class. Five of those newcomers made an immediate contribution to the program.
Hare joined the DePaul soccer program in 2009 as a graduate assistant. He was enrolled in the School for New Learning after graduating from Rider University in 1999. He spent the two previous seasons as an assistant coach at Florida Gulf Coast University, helping establish a Division I soccer program.
Prior to that, Hare was an assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst for two years helping build that program and spent one season as an assistant coach at Rider.
Hare was the Director of Training for the Cape Coral Soccer Association, the third-largest soccer club in Florida, for one year beginning in 2007. After his playing days at Rider, he played one season in England followed by stints with the Hershey (Pa.) Wildcats and New Jersey Stallions professional soccer teams.
Hare resides in the Lincoln Park community.
