DePaul Goalkeeper Sorby Earns NSCAA Academic Accolade

Senior captain named to Scholar All-North/Central Region Second Team

Career: Four-time member of the BIG EAST Conference All-Academic Team.

2013 (Senior): Team captain started 17 matches and missed one with an injury... had the best season of his career and was No. 2 in the nation in total saves during the middle of the season... spent most of 2013 among the top five goalkeepers in the country in saves... selected BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week in September... had 11 saves in back-to-back games against Milwaukee and Drake... held nine opponents to one goal or less including NCAA tournament teams Marquette, Northwestern and Providence... nominated for BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Award.

2012 (Junior): Started in 16 of 17 matches... came away with 12 saves at Louisville... had seven saves against St. John's... recorded a shutout against Northwestern and had six matches where he only gave up one goal... finished with a goals against average of 1.82 and a save percentage of .686.

2011 (Sophomore): Defended the net in 13 matches with 12 starts... recorded first collegiate shutout against Big Ten champion Northwestern... finished the season with a 5-4-1 goalkeeper record... collected a season-high eight saves at Villanova... had seven saves at St. John's... held eight opponents to a single goal---including NCAA tournament qualifiers Louisville and Rutgers... finished with 55 saves on the season.

2010 (Freshman): Did not compete on the field.

2009: Redshirted after playing in one match, starting in the season opener against Drake... gave up two goals with one save... earned BIG EAST Academic honors.

High School: Bypassed senior season to compete in Top Talent Program where his 2009 team became the first in the Midwest Regional League's 27-year history to go undefeated in the indoor season... Pioneer Press All-Area as a junior... All-Conference as a sophomore... Pioneer Press Rookie of the Year as a freshman... helped lead the Mustangs to a regional title in 2006 and to the sectional finals in 2005... competed for Sockers FC Chicago team that qualified for the U.S. Club Nationals in 2006... finalist in 2006 Disney Soccer Showcase... Copa champion in 2006... Illinois State Cup champion in 2007... two years on Sockers Development Academy team.
