Jan. 9, 2013
CHICAGO – Antonio Aguilar is finishing off his Blue Demon men’s soccer career with a flourish.
On Wednesday, Aguilar was selected to the All-Great Lakes Region Second Team by the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America). It marks the second year in a row Aguilar has been named to that all-region team.
Last fall, the dangerous DePaul midfielder was named All-BIG EAST Conference First Team for the second-straight year.
He led the team with six goals, 13 points and two game-winning goals. Aguilar also topped the Blue Demons in shots with 48 and shots on goal with 22.
The Mt. Carmel product earned a BIG EAST accolade each year at DePaul. As a freshman, he was named to the All-BIG EAST Rookie Team. A year later, Aguilar was chosen All-BIG EAST Second Team.
He finishes a stellar career with 21 total goals, which is the seventh-best mark all-time. His 53 career points place him ninth all-time.
