Men's Soccer Adds Brian Visser to Recruiting Class

2005 Men's Soccer Recruiting Class

CHICAGO – DePaul men’s soccer coach Craig Blazer recently announced that Brian Visser has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Blue Demons next season.  He is the seventh player in this signing class that will be the first in BIG EAST Conference play next season.

Visser is a four-year starter as a goalkeeper at York High School.  He has earned All-State, All-Sectional and All-Conference honors while being named York’s MVP and the Pioneer Press Player of the Year.  He was also named to the All-Dupage Soccer Team by the Daily Herald and picked up All-Area honors from the Chicago Sun-Times.  The academic All-Conference honoree combined for 25 shutouts during the 2004 year between his high school and club team.

“Brian is an extremely competitive athlete and an agile 6-3 goalkeeper,” said Blazer.  “He has excellent explosiveness and rounds out a strong class for DePaul heading into BIG EAST play next year.”

Visser joins Eric Hermosillo, Jared Johnson, Alex Mangan, Joe Sondag, Steffen Vroom and Brent Zang next fall in Lincoln Park.  The Blue Demons join the BIG EAST Conference after playing the last 10 seasons as a member of Conference USA.
