Men's Soccer Concludes Spring Season Against the Chicago Fire
CHICAGO The DePaul men’s soccer team plays the final game of their spring season on Sunday, May 18 against the Chicago Fire. The match is set for a 10 a.m. start in Bridgeview at the Toyota Park complex. Sunday’s game is the culmination of DePaul’s spring campaign as the Blue Demons prepare to defend their 2007 BIG EAST Red Division Championship next season.
DePaul has totaled eight spring games playing even at 3-3-2. The Blue Demons opened the schedule on April 5 with a 2-2 tie against Notre Dame followed by a 2-0 win over Bethel College. DePaul knocked off Michigan, 3-1, in Ft. Wayne, Ind. on April 12 before dropping 1-0 defeats to Northern Illinois and Dominican in DeKalb on April 19.
The Blue Demons traveled to Evanston on April 27 to play in three 45-minute matches and came out of the day with a 1-1-1 record. DePaul topped the University of Chicago, 2-0, before falling to Northwestern, 1-0, and playing UW-Parkside to a scoreless tie.
Alex Mangan and Steffen Vroom lead DePaul with two goals each while Vroom and Willy Lara have two assists apiece.
