Printable Schedule | Downloadable Schedule CHICAGO – DePaul men’s soccer coach Craig Blazer announced the 2006 schedule for the program’s second season of BIG EAST Conference play. The Blue Demons open the campaign with a pair of exhibition matches before taking on the 18-match regular-season slate. DePaul hosts nine regular-season matches at Wish Field, including six in BIG EAST play. “Our 2006 schedule is quite impressive as we begin our second season in the BIG EAST Conference,” said Blazer. “We play four teams that qualified for the 2005 NCAA Tournament and three of these games: West Virginia, South Florida, and St. John’s will be played on campus at Wish Field. The opportunity to play the premier teams in the country is what attracted so many of our players to DePaul. We also are very excited for our local games against Valparaiso, Loyola, UIC, and Northwestern. Every game will be demanding and require a quality team effort to be successful. We look forward to representing DePaul University in our 25th season at the 2006 BIG EAST Conference Tournament.” DePaul takes on Northern Illinois and Western Michigan in a pair of exhibition matches before opening the season at Valparaiso on Aug. 25. The Northern Illinois warmup is set for Aug. 15 at Wish Field followed by a preseason match with the Broncos in Kalamazoo on Aug. 20. A three-match homestand follows with Pittsburgh and West Virginia on the weekend of Sept. 15 and a non-conference match against Northwestern on Sept. 20.
