CHICAGO – DePaul coach Craig Blazer has announced his men’s soccer schedule for the 2017 season featuring six teams that competed in last year’s NCAA tournament.

At the heart of the Blue Demons’ slate are BIG EAST showdowns Sept. 16 at Providence, Sept. 30 versus Villanova at Wish Field, Oct. 14 at Butler and Oct. 28 at Creighton.

All four BIG EAST opponents advanced to the NCAA tournament with Providence making it to the quarterfinals, Creighton to the Sweet 16 and Butler to the second round. The BIG EAST is considered one of the top men's soccer conferences in the country.

The other NCAA tournament adversaries include Aug. 27 vs. Illinois-Chicago and Oct. 17 against Loyola Chicago---both at Wish Field.

After home exhibition matches against Western Michigan (Aug. 13) and Western Illinois (Aug. 19), Blazer’s side opens the regular season on Aug. 25 at Northern Illinois.

Following the road match at UIC, DePaul has three consecutive home matches Sept. 1 vs. LaSalle, Sept. 3 against Valparaiso and Sept. 8 versus Drake. A road match at IUPUI precedes the BIG EAST opener at Providence.

On Sept. 20, Bradley visits Wish Field before Georgetown comes to Lincoln Park on Sept. 23 and Villanova Sept. 30 (Alumni Day).

The Blue Demons are on the road for three of the next four matchups---Oct. 7 at Seton Hall, Oct. 14 at Butler and Oct. 17 at Loyola. The lone home game in this stretch is Oct. 11 against Northwestern.

The Blue Demons will celebrate Senior Day with a home match Oct. 21 against St. John’s followed by Xavier on Oct. 25. After the Oct. 28 trip to Creighton, they conclude the regular season Nov. 1 against Marquette at Wish Field.

Blazer and his team are shooting for their third-straight appearance in the BIG EAST Championship.
