CHICAGO - A total of seven teams that competed in the 2013 NCAA tournament highlight the DePaul men's soccer 2014 schedule.

Included in that challenging slate are matches against five teams from the BIG EAST Conference that advanced to the NCAA tournament led by conference champion Marquette which made it to the third round of the NCAA Championship.

The Blue Demons will take on the Golden Eagles on Nov. 7 in Milwaukee in the final match of the regular season.

Other BIG EAST hurdles include home matches Oct. 11 against Georgetown (NCAA third round) and Nov. 1 versus Creighton (NCAA qualifier) and road matches Oct. 25 at St. John's (NCAA second round) and Oct. 29 at Providence (NCAA second round). Providence was a runner-up to Marquette in last year's BIG EAST tournament.

DePaul coach Craig Blazer and his team will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. on Aug. 19 for an exhibition match against Michigan and be back on Wish Field on Aug. 23 for an exhibition match against Lewis.

The Blue Demons' season opener is Aug. 29 at Milwaukee, which competed in the NCAA tournament last season. Three days later, DePaul heads to Green Bay for a Labor Day nonconference match.

Mark down Sept. 5 on your calendar as the home opener with DePaul welcoming Utah Valley to Wish Field in the first match of the Chicago Classic. It will be the first men's soccer match on the newly renovated field.

Two days later, Western Michigan arrives in Lincoln Park to conclude the Classic.

Blazer & Co. take a trip to the southern part of the state for a Sept. 13 game at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. They are back home Sept. 17 to take on always competitive Drake.

Next are back-to-back road games where the Blue Demons won't have to travel very far. First up is a Sept. 20 match at Illinois-Chicago followed by a Sept. 24 showdown with Northwestern at Lakeside Field in Evanston. The Wildcats made it to the NCAA tournament last season.

DePaul's BIG EAST opener is Sept. 27 against Seton Hall at Wish Field. Following an Oct. 1 nonconference matchup against North Side rival Loyola Chicago at Wish Field, the Blue Demons hit the road for an Oct. 4 league game at Villanova.

The Oct. 11 home match vs. Georgetown is the first half of a Wish Field doubleheader with the DePaul women's team taking on Creighton.

The men continue their season Oct. 15 with a BIG EAST match at Xavier, Blazer's alma mater. Three days later, the Blue Demons face Butler at Wish Field. The Bulldogs advanced to the BIG EAST semifinals last season.

DePaul finishes the regular season with three of its last four regular-season matches away from Lincoln Park. That tough stretch begins with an Oct. 25 game at St. John's and continues with an Oct. 29 matchup at Providence. After a Nov. 1 home match vs. Creighton, the Blue Demons finish up at Marquette.
