Blue Demons Strike Early and Often In Exhibition Victory
RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The DePaul men's soccer team posted their second exhibition win in as many matches with a 2-0 win over Dominican on Thursday afternoon. DePaul wraps up the preseason schedule on Saturday against Marquette.
DePaul scored both goals in the first eight minutes of game. Julian Chill found Luke Rojo just 90 seconds into the match for the eventual game-winner. It was Rojo's first goal in the exhibition portion of the schedule.
The Blue Demons added an insurance goal just over six minutes later as John Partyka converted a free kick opportunity. Anthony Minniti was credited with the assist on the score at 7:50.
Lucas Zicher and Brian Visser combined on the shutout of Dominican with Zicher playing the first 60 minutes followed by Visser's 30 minutes in goal.
DePaul hosts Marquette on Saturday afternoon in the final exhibition game before the season-opener in Peoria, Ill. on Sept. 2. Kickoff with the Golden Eagles is set for 1 p.m.
