Men's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw at Green Bay



GREEN BAY, Wis. DePaul and Green Bay played to a 0-0 tie through 90 minutes of regulation and a pair of overtime periods on Friday night. The draw was the first of the season for the Blue Demons as they conclude the weekend on Sunday against Butler.

DePaul (1-2-1) finished the night with nine shots while the Phoenix managed 14 attempts, but neither team found the back of the net. Blue Demon goalkeeper Brian Visser finished the 110 minutes with four saves and his counterpart, Adam Stikl, was credited with three stops.

Willy Lara totaled three shots to lead DePaul and Green Bay (1-3-1) saw Francois Basty take a team-high four attempts.

The Blue Demons take on the Butler Bulldogs at Wish Field on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Game Notes: The Blue Demons are now 4-0-1 in their last five overtime games dating back to last season... the 0-0 score is the first scoreless draw since a 0-0 tie against Marshall in Sept. 2006... the shutout was the 19th of Brian Visser’s career... the Blue Demons now lead the series, 3-2-2.
